Overview

Eucharistic Ministers, Lay Eucharistic Ministers or Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, are mandated and commissioned lay persons who assist the priest in administering the elements of Holy Communion – the consecrated bread and wine.

Extraordinary Ministers assist in the distribution of Holy Communion when there are not enough priests or deacons present to fulfill this ministry at Mass. Depending on the Sunday Mass you attend, your volunteer commitment is one or two Masses a month. A schedule, is posted to our Ministry Schedule page.
