Our Pastor
AboutDear Holy Name of Mary Parishioners,
My name is Fr. Connor O’Hara and it is a real pleasure for me to be with you in this beautiful town as your Pastor. I have spent much of my life relatively close-by in Stittsville, where I grew up alongside four siblings and my two
wonderful parents. I studied at the University of Ottawa before I went to Seminary in Toronto. After my Priestly Ordination, I spent the past few years as a Priest serving in Kanata, in Barrhaven and Nepean, and also as the
Vocations Director for the Archdiocese where I assist men discerning the Priesthood.
I got news of my new appointment to Holy Name of Mary out of the blue when I was on holidays. I understand that many of you were also surprised by the sudden news, especially considering how beloved Fr. Cyprian is. However, I do have to say that I appreciate how warm and welcoming everyone has been despite the sudden change. Rest assured, I have no doubt that God will continue to be at work in the Parish and that everything will work out well. After all, God is a provident Father and we are always in His care.
On a more personal note, I am thrilled to see that the beautiful Rectory is right beside a hockey rink which I look forward to making good use of. In my free time, aside from hockey, I enjoy back country camping, hiking, skiing,
and keeping active. I am also a pipe organ enthusiast, and I love beautiful Churches… so, something tells me that Almonte will be a great fit!
I look forward to getting to know all of you in my new role as your Pastor. Until then, I entrust you all to the care of our Blessed Mother Mary.
